Critical Tips and Reminders
- Always include (that is, use a Cc: ) your eTeacher on TBE-related exchanges with other teaching partners in your Room or in other Rooms. Remember that exchanges with your teaching partners is part of your participation evaluation.
- Attaching a file is usually better than trying to format a document in an e-mail message. You can exchange documents, spreadsheets, presentations, PDF files—whatever—with each other and with your eTeacher. If you are using any version of Microsoft Word, your documents should be readable by your eTeacher. To ensure that they are readable, try saving them in Rich Text Format (.rtf) before attaching them.
- Always use eTeacher (with the appropriate number) when you address an e-mail to your eTeacher within the TBE system. Do NOT use the full address that you use when you send from your personal e-mail. Do NOT create a contact for your eTeacher or colleagues.
- Pay attention to instructions for submitting each assignment. After the first assignment, which is designed to build the overall TBE community, you should send your assignments to your designated Room. This process is known as “posting.”
- Avoid sending multiple Cc:s to the Discussion Room unless you are specifically instructed to do so. With so many participants, the Discussion Room can fill up quickly!
- Feel free to initiate questions and conversations within your designated Room, in the Discussion Room, or to a colleague; of course, please always remember to Cc: your eTeacher. Sometimes you will be instructed to work directly with another TBE participant; in that situation, Cc: your eTeacher, but do not include your Room or the Discussion Room.
- Do not send assignments, questions, announcements, or conversations to the Bulletin Board. The Bulletin Board is used for messages to the whole group, and these messages are usually announcements or reminders from Alexandra or our database manager.
- Be aware that there are multiple parts to most of the assignments. You have to complete all parts before you are finished with anassignment.
